A great gaming experience includes many factors, like a good gaming monitor, and Acer is prepared to deliver on that with five new gaming monitors that it just announced at IFA, including two from its Predator line and three from its Nitro line. These are among a handful of different gaming hardware announcements from Acer this week, including a super cool gaming laptop concept, and Acer’s first handheld gaming PC called the Nitro Blaze 7.

All of Acer’s new gaming monitors are 27 inches or smaller. So if you’re looking for that large, ultrawide experience for your gaming sessions, these won’t fit the bill. Having said that, each of the new monitors appears to have something that will appeal to even the most serious of gamers. The most notable is the refresh rate, which is incredibly high on most of these new models. In fact, only one of the five new monitors comes with a refresh rate that dips below 300Hz – The Predator XB273K V5. Even then, it has a respectable 160Hz refresh rate which is going to be plenty for most people. Plus, you can boost it with a neat little feature that Acer added in.

Two new Acer Predator gaming monitors offer “cutting-edge technology”

Starting off with Acer’s two new Predator monitors, the Predator XB273U F5 and the Predator XB273K V5 are “bringing cutting-edge technology and innovation to the forefront,” Acer says. For the Predator XB273K V5, one of those cutting-edge technologies is the addition of Dynamic Frequency and Resolution. This allows you to swap between the monitor’s two different refresh rates. Yes, there’s two. The panel will normally sit at 160Hz because it’s a native 4K UHD monitor.

However, the Dynamic Frequency and Resolution allows you to dip the resolution down to Full HD, which also boosts the refresh rate up to 320Hz. So if you don’t mind giving up some visual fidelity, you’ll get those faster refresh rates to keep games looking smooth. It also supports AMD FreeSync Premium. Additionally, it supports VESA DisplayHDR 400, and comes with both HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 connectivity options.

As for the Predator XB273U F5, you get a native 360Hz refresh rate and NVIDIA G-Sync Pulsar support. It dumps the resolution down to WQHD, but that’s the trade-off for the constant 360Hz refresh rate. Both monitors also get fairly bright, with a 400-nit peak brightness on the Predator XB273K V5, and a 500-nit peak brightness on the Predator XB273U F5. Acer says it plans to launch the Predator XB273K V5 in North America in Q4 of this year with a price starting at $499.99. It hasn’t announced the pricing or availability of the Predator XB273U F5.

For true speed freaks, there’s Acer’s new Nitro monitors

True to the name of the brand, the Acer Nitro line is fueling up its three new monitors with some truly impressive features. Not the least of which are the refresh rates. If you value speed over all else, each of Acer’s new Nitro monitors have you covered. The “slowest” of the bunch is the Nitro XV270U F5, which comes with a refresh rate of 500Hz. That’s more than the majority of gaming monitors currently available on the market, and the numbers only go up from there.

Next up is the Nitro XV270 F5 which has a 520Hz refresh rate. If you’re really seeking that neck-breaking speed, however, then there’s the Nitro XV240 F6. It features a 600Hz refresh rate. A refresh rate so fast your eyes will struggle to really keep up with its potential. Acer is calling these its “UltraSpeed” monitors, and that seems fitting. They’re the kinds of gaming monitors you’d buy if you play fast-paced, ultra-competitive multiplayer games where speed is usually everything. You’re also looking at Full HD resolution on both the Nitro XV240 F6 and Nitro XV270 F5. While the Nitro XV270U F5 is WQHD.

In terms of availability, they’re all coming to North America in Q1 of 2025. So there’s a bit of a wait. Pricing-wise, none of these monitors are too expensive. The Nitro XV240 F6 and Nitro XV270 F5 will each retail for $600, while the Nitro XV270U F5 will retail for $800.
