The TicWatch Pro 5 was officially announced earlier this year and launched not long after, and now Mobvoi is launching it in a new Sandstone colorway. When it was first released and up until now, it was only available in Obsidian.
Now consumers looking to grab a smartwatch can choose between two options from the TicWatch Pro 5. Other than the color, there are no design changes. But the nice thing is that the entire watch is featured in Sandstone. The bezel, the side button and digital crown, the watch case, and even the band. The only part that isn’t in this new color is the back of the case where the sensors are. Of course you could always swap out the band too. But the Sandstone one that comes with the watch matches it quite nicely.
Additionally, Mobvoi is having a bit of a sale to celebrate the new color.
The Sandstone TicWatch Pro 5 will cost more
To clarify, it won’t be more expensive than the Obsidian model was at launch. It will however cost more regardless. That’s because Mobvoi is lowering the price of the Obsidian model by 15%. So you can currently pick it up for $297.49 directly through Mobvoi’s online store, while the Sandstone model remains the original $349.99 price.
You can also get the Obsidian model for the lower price on Amazon. However, this is a lightning deal so it’s only available at that price for a limited time. And it’s likely that it won’t last long through Mobvoi either. If you like the Sandstone model better though, that’s available on Amazon too.
The TicWatch Pro 5 runs on Wear OS 3 and features a Snapdragon Wear 5+ Gen1 wearable platform. It’s loaded with features from GPS tracking to over 100 workout modes. The crown can also be used for navigation of the UI if you don’t want to leave fingerprints and smudges on your screen. Plus, it has up to 80 hours of battery life in a single charge so it should last a few days. And if you need to charge it, it supports fast charge.
