The Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade closed beta test is, as it turns out, just around the corner. Ubisoft has now confirmed a specific arrival date for the beginning of the closed beta test.
Earlier this year a report surfaced that Ubisoft was rumored to be working on multiple different Assassin’s Creed titles. One of those was Codename Jade, which was later confirmed to be a mobile title coming to Android and iOS. The game will be set in the third century BC in ancient China. The game follows the main character of Xia at a time when China is seeing one of its first unified dynasties.
There’s not really a whole lot known about the story of the game. For instance there’s no confirmation how big of a role if any Abstergo Industries will play. But it seems unlikely Ubisoft would put out an Assassin’s Creed game that doesn’t include the franchise’s main antagonist organization. It’s also not clear if this game is canon. If it is however, there’s at least an idea of where it falls on the chronological timeline. Given that it takes place in third century BC China.

The beta is still a few weeks away, so you won’t be jumping in to play just yet. But it won’t be long before you get the chance. Ubisoft confirms the beta will start on August 3. And it’ll be August 3 before you know it.
To be considered for the beta you’ll need to sign up via the official website. And as always, signing up for the beta does not guarantee access. This game is being developed as a collaboration between Ubisoft and Level Infinite. And this is important with regards to the beta for one main reason. You’ll need to create a Level Infinite account if you don’t already have one.
The good news is that this is free. Just be sure to set one up and sign in. As you’ll need to be logged in if you want to sign up for the beta. “Level Infinite is working closely with Ubisoft to create a true high quality Assassin’s Creed game experience made for mobile platforms,” the studio says.
