Google is adding more ads to Gmail, and people are mad!

Ads are everywhere across the internet, and your email inbox is no exception. We all know that Google shows ads at the top of our Gmail inboxes. However, it seems that Google’s adding even more ads to Gmail, and people are annoyed.

Ads in Gmail were pretty out of the way before. They’d pop up at the top of your inbox and be labeled to let you know that they’re ads. If you didn’t want to click on it, you could just move on. Most people don’t even realize that they’re even there.

But, there are more ads in Gmail

According to 9To5Google, several users around the internet are posting about seeing more ads in their Gmail inboxes. They’ve taken to Twitter and shared screenshots. Not only is Google showing more ads in their inboxes, but the company is now scattering them throughout.

They were previously only displayed at the top of the inboxes, but now, they’re being placed at random intervals throughout. There are even screenshots that show multiple ads on one screen. This isn’t sitting well with these users.

For the time being, it seems that this is only affecting people who use the desktop version of Gmail. Also, this is only affecting a select group of users. We weren’t able to replicate this using our accounts. So, Google is mostly only testing this out.

So, at this time, we’re not sure if Google will roll this out to everyone. We’ll need to wait and see.

The fact that Google is doing this isn’t that much of a shocker. The search giant, along with other companies, needs to make choices in order to stave off financial losses. The global economy is still in a tough place. Companies like Twitch are doubling down on ads, much to users’ destain.

Also, we can’t rule out ChatGPT’s influence on Google’s profits. The AI chatbot has picked up a lot of traction since it was created. Let’s just hope that Google won’t take ads even further.
