WWE’s first PLE since the big Wrestlemania extravaganza last month is happening this weekend. It’s taking place live from Puerto Rico, and it’ll be the WWE’s first PLE from the island since New Year’s Revolution in 2005. It also kicks off an early Summer full of international premium live events for the company. With Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia later this month, and Money in the Bank in the UK next month.

Backlash, as the name indicates, is full of a lot of backlash from the results of Wrestlemania back in April at SoFi Stadium. For instance, Cody Rhodes versus Brock Lesnar. The night after Wrestlemania, Cody Rhodes wanted a rematch with Roman Reigns, but instead got a tag match, and Lesnar was his partner. However, before the match started, Lesnar attacked Rhodes, so the match never happened. Now, Rhodes seeks payback for that beatdown, in Puerto Rico.

Many will say that this storyline is following the John Cena storyline from about a decade ago. When Cena lost to The Rock at Wrestlemania, and then got destroyed by a returning Brock Lesnar. Pushing Cena to the lowest or lows, before winning the Royal Rumble and beating the Rock at the following year’s Wrestlemania for the WWE Championship.

The other big match happening at Backlash, features two stars from the island. That’s Damien Priest of the Judgement Day, and Bad Bunny. Originally, Bad Bunny was being advertised as hosting the event, but now he has a 1v1 match. These two actually competed in a tag team match together at Wrestlemania during the pandemic. But now, they are facing each other. Given Bad Bunny’s previous match, this one is bound to be an exciting one.

How To Watch WWE Backlash 2023

If you’re in the US, you’re going to need to subscribe to Peacock to watch Backlash. Peacock costs just $5 per month, and brings in a load of other content to watch as well, from the NBCUniversal library. This is the third PPV that has been available on Peacock. Once you login to Peacock, you’ll see “WWE” in the top bar, click on that and you’ll see the PPV when it is live, as well as the rest of the WWE library.

You can sign up for Peacock here. It’s really worth signing up for, particularly if you are a Comcast or Cox customer, as you get Peacock for free.

Outside of the US, you’ll still need to use the WWE Network, which is around $9.99 everywhere else.

When does Backlash start

Like all PPVs, Backlash will start at 8PM ET/4PM PT. With the Kickoff show starting at 7PM ET/3PM PT. As always, it’ll be streaming on Peacock in the US and the WWE Network everywhere else.

The PPVs usually end around 11PM, making them about three hours or one Monday Night Raw. This card is pretty stacked this year, so it might go a bit longer than 3 hours.
