The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is coming in a couple of months, and its design just got revealed by CAD renders. @OnLeaks partnered up with SmartPrix in order to make the reveal.
CAD renders reveal the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 design
If you check out the gallery below the article, you’ll see a bunch of images of the device. You will notice that the phone actually looks quite similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 4, but there are some notable improvements.
First and foremost, the phone is now thinner when folded. Even though that’s an improvement on its own, it also folds flat now. That’s actually the main reason for this reduction in thickness. It was about time Samsung makes this move.
The company used a different hinge this time around, to make this happen. Something a number of other OEMs have been doing for a while. The phone now measures 154.9 x 129.9 x 6.3mm when unfolded, and 154.9 x 67.1 x 13.5mm when folded.
It will be noticeably less thick when folded, and will also offer a gapless design
So, when folded, the phone will be 13.5mm thick, which is noticeably less than the 14.2-15.8mm the Galaxy Z Fold 4 offered. There will no longer be a gap between the sides of its main display when the device is folded. Not only will this make it look more modern, but it will also offer better display protection.
The phone will include three cameras on the back. Those cameras will be vertically-aligned, and will all be inside the same camera island. As far as display sizes are concerned, they will remain the same. The main display will measure 7.6 inches, while the secondary panel will measure 6.2 inches.
The sides of the phone will be flat, but with chamfered edges. Samsung will utilize metal and glass to make this phone a reality, as the company did with its predecessor.
Powerful specs are expected
You can expect both of its displays to offer a 120Hz refresh rate, and there is also a display camera hole on each of them. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC will fuel the device, while we’re expecting to get LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage here. IPX8 rating is also expected, as is Android 13 with Samsung’s One UI skin on top of it.
