The Google Pixel 8 will be smaller than its predecessor, the Pixel 7. A well-known analyst has just revealed the display sizes of the Pixel 8 series, including both the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.

The Pixel 8 will feature a smaller display than the Pixel 7, making it more compact

This info comes from Ross Young. He went to Twitter to confirm that the Pixel 8 will feature a 6.16-inch display. The Pixel 7 includes a 6.32-inch panel, in case you forgot. As far as the Pixel 8 Pro is concerned, it will retain the same 6.7-inch display size the Pixel 7 Pro offers.

Ross Young also said that panel production for both phones will start next month, in May. As most of you know by now, both devices are expected to arrive in October this year. That has not been confirmed, but their predecessors arrived in October 2022. On top of that, that is Google’s usual release cycle.

These are good news for people looking for a compact device. This thing won’t be as compact as the ZenFone 9 or the iPhone 13 Mini, but it will be close to what the Galaxy S23 offers. It will surely be an option for those of you who don’t like large phones.

The phone’s design got revealed via CAD-based renders

The Pixel 7a design leaked a ton of times thus far, while the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro popped up in CAD-based renders too. The Pixel 8 will feature a flat display with a centered display camera hole up top.

It will be made out of metal and glass, it seems, and it will feature two cameras on the back. The camera visor will be similar to the one on the Pixel 7, it will be covered by metal. That visor will, once again, spread from the frame on one side of the phone, to the frame on the other side.

The Pixel 8 specs are still a mystery at this point. One thing is for sure, however, it will be fueled by the Google Tensor G3 chip, and ship with Android 14 out of the box. We may even get a bump to a 120Hz display this time around, as the Pixel 7a is moving to 90Hz.
