Ross Young from Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) has just revealed a lot of iPhone info. He revealed the iPhone display timeline which details models from iPhone 15 all the way to iPhone 19.

The iPhone display timeline details all models from iPhone 15 to iPhone 19

If you take a look at the image below, you’ll see what I’m talking about. You can clearly see what the display will look like on the iPhone 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19. That goes for both vanilla and ‘Pro’ models.

So, all iPhone 15 units will include a pill-shaped cutout on the front. The iPhone 15 vanilla models will retain LTPS displays, while the ‘Pro’ models will retain LTPO displays. The same will be the case with the iPhone 16 in 2024, actually.

Things change a bit with the iPhone 17 in 2025. All models will have LTPO displays, while the iPhone 17 vanilla models will retain the pill cutout. That’s also the first time vanilla models will get 120Hz displays. The ‘Pro’ models, however, are said to feature an under-display Face ID system, combined with a display camera hole. The same will be the case with the iPhone 18 series, actually.

The iPhone 19 Pro series will ditch display holes, and offer a clear canvas to users

The iPhone 19 series in 2027 will bring notable changes. The vanilla iPhone 19 models will include an under-display Face ID and a display camera hole, like the iPhone 17 Pro series. The iPhone 19 Pro models, well, those devices are expected to ditch any sort of cutouts on the display.

The iPhone 19 Pro series is said to include both an under-display Face ID system, and an under-display camera. That basically means you’ll get a nice, clear canvas to work with, for the first time since iPhone 8, but with considerably thinner bezels, of course.

2027 does seem to be a long way from now, and it is, we’re four years away from that point. That’s what’s predicted by DSCC, though, and it’s probably accurate.
