Xbox Game Pass is easily one of the best values in gaming, but what are the best games for it? Which titles should you focus your time on? Well the answer to that will change from person to person, as naturally people have unique tastes. But, that doesn’t mean there aren’t a group of games that Microsoft is offering in Xbox Game Pass that can’t be passed off as the best titles to check out first.
These are going to be games that are generally well-liked and in most cases, exceedingly popular with fans and critics. Xbox Game Pass also changes its lineup pretty often. So this list will change accordingly to accommodate that when games leave the library eventually.
Lastly, there’s also a huge list of games you can play if you subscribe, and these are available across multiple platforms. Such as PC, console, and cloud. This list isn’t focusing on any one platform in particular. And instead will incorporate all three methods for playing.

Tunic
- Cost if purchased: $29.99
- Where to play: PC, Console, Cloud
Tunic is an isometric action game where you play as a small fox who’s stranded in a ruined land. It plays a lot like Zelda but also incorporates elements of difficulty akin to souls-like titles. Though not necessarily on that scale.
If you love adventure seeking games with RPG elements, Tunic is a great throw back to those kinds of games that mix RPG and action. And despite its similarities to Zelda, Tunic is unique and has plenty of gameplay features to call its own.
As one of the newest games on Game Pass, we also feel it’s one of the best ones you can sink some time into right now.
High On Life
- Cost if purchased: $59.99
- Where to play: PC, Console, Cloud
Do you like Rick and Morty humor? Are you a fan of Justin Roiland’s work? If you answered yes then you will probably love High On Life. It’s an FPS game that puts you in the driver’s seat as the lone hero to save the world and humanity from being used as drugs by an alien drug cartel. Of course you have a sidekick, or rather sidekicks, to help you. An arsenal of talking guns.
If you’re a fan of Justin Roiland’s comedy, then this is a big part of where this game will shine. The talking guns. Beyond that, it just offers generally good gameplay. The $60 price tag is a hard pill to swallow. So if you plan to buy it, wait till there’s a sale. Because the game is good, but probably not worth $60. Luckily, it’s a new game on Game Pass so you can play it for free!
Hi-Fi Rush
- Cost if purchased: $29.99
- Where to play: PC, Console, Cloud
Hi-Fi Rush is a wild time and since it’s on Game Pass, you should definitely play it. It’s an action game with stylish graphics that sync to the beat of the music, and since you play a wannabe rock star, there’s plenty of music throughout the game. It features some really cool combat and gameplay that’s overall easy to get into.
Plus, since it’s on Game Pass you can play it locally on PC or your Xbox console, or through the cloud on your mobile device.
Forza Horizon 5
- Cost if purchased: $47.99
- Where to play: PC, Console, Cloud
The latest Forza racing game is also one of the best in the series, and one of the best games on Game Pass right now. Even if you’re not a loyal Forza fan but you do like racing games, check this one out if you haven’t already done so.
It has a massive roster of cars, literally hundreds of different rides for you to put the pedal to the metal in. And true to the Forza Horizon formula, you’ll be racing across the planet in all kinds of locales and in tons of different environments with dynamic weather and more.
Featuring both single player and online play, Forza Horizon 5 has a lot to offer anyone who enjoys racing titles. Plus, the graphics aren’t bad to look at.
No Man’s Sky
- Cost if purchased: $47.99
- Where to play: PC, Console, Cloud
No Man’s Sky is the ultimate game for those who love to explore vast worlds with seemingly limitless possibilities. Embark on a journey across the universe in your ship and seek out to discover all kinds of things with hundreds of thousands of procedurally generated worlds.

If you’ve ever dreamed of setting out for the stars and flying through space to see what you could find, this is probably the best game to do that in.
Citizen Sleeper
- Cost if purchased: $15.99
- Where to play: PC, Console, Cloud
This is a must-play game for narrative RPG fans. In the game you play a digitized human consciousness placed inside of an artificial body. You’ve escaped the clutches of your corporate overlords to a ruined space station on the edge of interstellar society. Of course, your former keepers want you back and have sent people to hunt you down.
You’ll have to avoid being captured while trying to survive in your new home one day at a time. Expect plenty of player choice here in what you can do each day. Forge or break alliances, spend time with friends, complete jobs to get paid and more.
There’s no high-action combat, and quite honestly very little stress (if any) included in this game content. This is a game you play if you want a more laidback experience and just want to enjoy your time gaming.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
- Cost if purchased: $9.99 or Requires EA Play subscription
- Where to play: PC, Console, Cloud
Rounding out this list is Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, a single-player experience action & adventure game with both RPG and souls-like gameplay. You can level up your lightsaber skills and use the force powers as you progress your character throughout the game. Engage in challenging boss fights as Cal Kestis, a former Jedi padawan in hiding after the Great Jedi Purge and the formation of the Galactic Empire.
Though the game was released in 2019, it’s still one of the best games you can play on Game Pass right now. Though you will either need to buy it or have an EA Play subscription as part of Game Pass to play it. Luckily, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate comes with EA Play, so you won’t have to have two subscriptions going.
