After updating most of its eligible Galaxy smartphones to One UI 5.1, Samsung has now started pushing the new One UI version to its tablets. The Galaxy Tab S8 series is expectedly the first to get the big update. Both Wi-Fi and cellular variants of the devices are picking up the latest release.

As of this writing, the One UI 5.1 update for the Galaxy Tab S8 lineup is live in Europe, India, and South Korea. The new firmware build number varies depending on your region, device model, and device variant (Wi-Fi or cellular).

But in most cases, it should end with BWB4 (via). The firmware version doesn’t matter much either. It’s the content that matters the most. Samsung will gradually expand the release to more markets in the coming days. Galaxy Tab S8 users in the US should get One UI 5.1 shortly.

Samsung pushes One UI 5.1 to the Galaxy Tab S8 series

One UI 5. is the latest iteration of Samsung’s custom Android software. Debuting with the Galaxy S23 series on February 1, the new One UI version started making its way into older Galaxy devices even before the new flagships went on sale.

Over the past couple of weeks or so, the Korean firm has pushed it to dozens of eligible Galaxy smartphones, including the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Galaxy Z Flip 4. A host of mid-range models such as the Galaxy A53 5G also picked up the new One UI update.

Samsung has now started showering its tablets with its One UI 5.1 love. The Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8+, and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra are the first three models to get it. We expect the Korean firm to push the new One UI version to more tablets in the coming days.

The Galaxy Tab S7, Galaxy Tab S6, and other models should get the update, which is a fairly major one considering all the goodies it brings. We will let you know as soon as Samsung starts pushing One UI 5.1 to more Galaxy devices.

In the meantime, if you’re using one of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S8 models, you can navigate to Settings > Software update and tap on Download and install to check for updates manually. If you don’t see any updates today, wait a few days and check again. Since it’s a major update, you may want to connect your tablet to a stable Wi-Fi network before downloading the OTA (over the air) package. You can check out this changelog supplied by Samsung for new features and improvements that One UI 5.1 brings to the Galaxy Tab S8 series.
