Last week, Samsung released the One UI 5.1 update for the Galaxy S20 FE 5G in Europe. The 4G LTE model didn’t receive any firmware release around that time. A week later, it is getting a new update too. Unfortunately, it still isn’t One UI 5.1 for the phone. The Galaxy S20 FE LTE is only getting the February 2023 Android security patch. The new SMR (Security Maintenance Release) is also available for the Galaxy Note 10 and the Galaxy Tab S8 series.
The latest update for the Galaxy S20 FE LTE is rolling out widely to users in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. The new release comes with the firmware build number G780FXXSAEWB3 (via). Samsung didn’t release this phone in the US. Only the 5G model arrived stateside, and it hasn’t received One UI 5.1 yet. The new One UI version for the Galaxy S20 FE 5G is still limited to Europe. We expect the Korean firm to seed One UI 5.1 to both 4G and 5G models of its first-ever FE phone globally over the next few days.
The Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ aren’t eligible for One UI 5.1. The phones didn’t even get Android 13. However, if you’re using these aging S Pen-wielding Samsung smartphones, the latest security patch is on your way. The Korean firm recently released the February SMR for the Galaxy Note 10 duo in a host of Latin American countries, including Argentina, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and Trinidad And Tobago. The updated firmware version for the phones is N97*FXXS8HWA5. A global rollout, including in the US, should be just around the corner.
The Galaxy Tab S8 series also gets the February security update
Samsung‘s February security update is also available for the Galaxy Tab S8 series. The newest Galaxy tablets are also the first set of tablets from Samsung to pick up the new SMR. The update bears the firmware version X70*BXXU3BWB4 for the base Galaxy Tab S8, X80*BXXU3BWB4 for the Galaxy Tab S8+, and X90*BXXU3BWB4 for the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra (via SamMobile). The rollout began recently in Europe and may take a few days to expand globally.
The Galaxy Tab S8 lineup should also get the One UI 5.1 update from Samsung. The big-screen devices would benefit from improved multitasking, including new gestures, that the new One UI version brings. We will let you know when the Korean firm begins the rollout. In the meantime, you can install the latest update that contains more than 50 vulnerability fixes, including a handful of critical ones.
