Hogwart Legacy Magic Gun Mod

Hogwarts Legacy is now in the hands of millions of players around the world, each of whom is going on their own magical adventure through the Wizarding World. That’s despite the ongoing controversy over J.K. Rowling’s transphobia, the furor online over whether purchasing a copy makes you a bad person, and steamers being reduced to tears after the comments section turned against them.

But if this new mod snowballs in popularity, we may be seeing yet more headlines. Hogwarts Legacy isn’t the most easily moddable game out there, though we’ve already seen several model replacements and one has immediately crashed into the top ten for the game on Nexus Mods.

This is the “Magic Gun” which replaces the wand with a Glock, letting players settle the age-old theory that many of the Wizarding World’s problems could be solved with bullets rather than spells. The description says that it:

“Replaces your wand with Gloc I mean a magical device that is based on a 1800s historical design and bears no resemblance to any real-world counterparts of the modern era.”

As this is just a model replacement, don’t expect to be pumping 9 mm rounds into Dark Wizards, as it’ll just fire the same spells as the wand does. Even so, walking the halls of Hogsmeade while strapped certainly looks odd.

It’s probably worth mentioning that as the game is set primarily inside a school it’s not exactly tasteful to have your character wielding a gun, though this being the internet something like this was bound to come along sooner or later. Many Potter fans are already embracing it for the comedy factor alone:

Yer’ a John Wick Harry:

Grimly loading up Avada Kedavra shells and going back to the old me:

But, sadly, this won’t be coming to PlayStation and Xbox for obvious reasons:

We nervously await to see what else the modding community will do to Hogwarts Legacy, though whatever that is we doubt Rowling would approve.
