We’re all wondering when Nothing is going to launch Nothing OS 1.5 to the Nothing Phone (1) AKA Android 13. While the latest update coming to the phone doesn’t bring the sought-after upgrade, but it brings a neat addition for Ear (1) users. The latest update brings the Nothing X app, according to 9To5Google.
Android 13 for the Nothing Phone (1) has been a hot topic surrounding this phone for a while. Nothing just announced a program where people in the US can try out the phone with Android 13 running on it for $299.
If you’re interested, you still have several months to sign up for the program. When you get the phone in your hands, you’ll be able to test out the software on the phone and report back to the company what you think it could do better.
One neat thing about this is that you’re able to keep the phone when you’re done testing it. It should make sense, as you’re paying $300. It’d be a smack to the face to pay that much money just to have to give it back.
The Nothing X app is coming to Nothing OS
This update doesn’t bring many user-facing changes to the software, but it’s an important one. It brought the January 2023 security update in tow. According to the changelog, this update brings the usual bug fixes to the software. Also, it fixes the issue causing the software to stutter in certain scenarios.
The main addition to the software is the Nothing X app. This is big news if you use any of Nothing’s TWS earbuds. Previously, you’d use the Ear (1) app to manage your earbuds’ connection, ANC, etc. Now, Nothing is replacing that app with the Nothing X App. It will perform the same functions as the old app.
Not only are you able to control what modes the device earbuds are in, but you’ll also be able to use the built-in EQ. This will give you the ability to tweak the sound to your liking.
