Actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers winds up in the last place most people would want to be in his latest film Disquiet.

If you already didn’t like winding up in the hospital as most certainly don’t, a new horror film will wheel you right in on a blood-soaked gurney. According to an exclusive report from Collider, a new trailer and release date has dropped for the film titled Disquiet (2023), a supernatural horror starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers and directed by Michael Winnick.

As the trailer shows, Disquiet centers around Meyers, who winds up in a hospital after a near-fatal car accident. However, the hospital he wakes up in does not appear to be at all normal, or remotely safe for that matter. Desperate to get out, Meyer’s character runs into other terrified victims who have also found themselves mysteriously trapped inside the hospital. While trying to work together to find a way out, they run into hospital staff who aren’t at all hospitable or even recognizably human. It begs the question if the hospital itself is actually real, or if they’re all trapped within an other-dimensional nightmare. The film looks to be a smaller scale, wacky supernatural terror thriller that aims to keep the scare meter all the way up from start to finish.

Disquiet is just one of many projects that Jonathan Rhys Meyers already has lined up for the new year. Aside from this one, he has seven others in production or post-production. The versatile Irish actor, who most often partakes in the indie film scene had his first breakout lead role in the historic drama show The Tudors as King Henry VIII, starring alongside a young Henry Cavill and Natalie Dormer. Around the same time he starred in notable titles such as Mission Impossible III (2006), August Rush (2007) and later on the important historic drama Stonewall (2015), based on true events.

In just the past few years his schedule picked up immense steam, with roles in Dangerous Game: Legacy Murders (2022), Wifelike (2022), and The Good Neighbor (2022). He also dove into the popular Norse episodic Vikings, and now is back to flex his horror chops once more. A hard-working actor who clearly likes to keep a busy schedule, Meyers is definitely a name that audiences will continue to see quite a bit of.

Disquiet is set for a limited release in movie theaters soon on February 10th, as well as digital and on-demand the same day.
