Gerard Butler and Mike Colter must team-up after their plane crash lands in a war-torn jungle.

The final trailer for Plane finds Gerard Butler teaming up with Mike Colter to take down a band of armed militias and rescue hostages after their plane crashes over a remote area of the Philippines. Released courtesy of Lionsgate, this latest footage teases more of the action that this pair of mismatched heroes will throw themselves into. Check out the latest trailer for Plane below.

“In the white-knuckle action movie Plane, pilot Brodie Torrance saves his passengers from a lightning strike by making a risky landing on a war-torn island — only to find that surviving the landing was just the beginning,” reads the official synopsis for Plane. “When most of the passengers are taken hostage by dangerous rebels, the only person Torrance can count on for help is Louis Gaspare, an accused murderer who was being transported by the FBI. In order to rescue the passengers, Torrance will need Gaspare’s help, and will learn there’s more to Gaspare than meets the eye.”

Directed by Assault on Precinct 13 and Blood Father’s Jean-François Richet and written by Charles Cumming and J. P. Davis, Plane stars Daniella Pineda (Jurassic World Dominion), Yoson An (Mulan), Remi Adeleke (Transformers: The Last Knight), Haleigh Hekking (Action Royale), Lilly Krug (Every Breath You Take), Joey Slotnick (The Blacklist), Oliver Trevena (While We Sleep), and newcomer Kelly Gale alongside Law Abiding Citizen star Gerard Butler and Luke Cage’s Mike Colter.

Audiences are loving what they’ve seen from Plane so far, with the action-thriller recently receiving an earlier release date thanks to the overwhelmingly positive response to the handful of trailers and promos. Thus, Plane will land in theaters a little earlier than planned, shifting its release date from Jan. 27 to Jan. 13.

Gerard Butler Has Plenty of Action Outings in the Pipeline

Plane looks like the perfect vehicle for action man Gerard Butler to once again up the gruffness and ply his trade. The B-movie thriller is just one of several action outings in the pipeline for the 300 star, who is due to reprise the roles of both Secret Service Agent Mike Banning in the Angel Has Fallen sequel Night Has Fallen and Detective Nick “Big Nick” O’Brien in a sequel to the 2018 heist action flick, Den of Thieves.

Alongside Banning and Big Nick, Butler will also once again navigate his way through a post-apocalypse in a sequel to the 2020 disaster flick Greenland. Titled Greenland: Migration, the story will pick up where the first movie let off, reintroducing the Garrity family, who survived a near-extinction level event when an interstellar comet hits the earth, and must now leave the safety of the Greenland bunker and embark on a perilous journey across the decimated frozen wasteland of Europe to find a new home.

If all that was not enough, Butler will also re-team with Greenland and Angel Has Fallen director Ric Roman Waugh for Kandahar, following Butler as Tom Harris, an undercover CIA operative stuck deep in hostile territory in Afghanistan.

Once again, before you depart, Plane is scheduled to be released in the United States on Jan. 13.
