The OnePlus 11 launched in China yesterday, and many people wondered if the ‘Pro’ model will launch. Well, we can now say that the OnePlus 11 Pro doesn’t exist, as expected. This information has been confirmed by the OnePlus China President, Li Jie.
The OnePlus 11 Pro doesn’t exist, as expected
He confirmed this via Weibo, while responding to a user. He basically flat-out said that there is no OnePlus 11 Pro. That is completely unsurprising, as rumors prior to launch claimed that OnePlus simply switched to a regular naming scheme, rather than using the ‘Pro’ moniker.
The OnePlus 11 is quite a powerful smartphone and obviously the company’s flagship. It is a direct successor to the OnePlus 10 Pro. The company launched a single phone last year, and it’s now doing the same thing.
Do note that things could change in the future, though. Also, this is the machine translation we’re talking about, so it’s possible something got lost along the way, even though Li’s message seems to be clear as day.
OnePlus usually has two major flagship launches a year. The first one is in the first quarter these days, and the other later in the year, usually in the third quarter. We’re expecting at least one T series phone to arrive later this year.
The OnePlus 11 broke sales records in China after just two hours
OnePlus China’s President also confirmed that the OnePlus 11 broke sales records. He said that it broke sales records after just two hours. The first actual place in China will take place on January 9, but many people already reserved their units.
The OnePlus 11 seemingly comes with two major omissions this year. The phone doesn’t offer an official IP rating, while it also doesn’t support wireless charging. Well, at least based on the official spec sheet from China.
It does have very powerful specs, though. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 fuels it, while a large 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO 3.0 AMOLED display is also included. Its refresh rate goes up to 120Hz, and it’s curved.
The phone also utilizes LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage. A 5,000mAh battery is included, and it supports 100W wired charging. If you’d like to know more about the device, check out our official announcement.
