Netflix has added in a handful of new games to its mobile app, including two acclaimed titles from Annapurna Interactive. In total it looks like Netflix has added in five new games. Which of course, like all the others, are available to play for free for Netflix subscribers. You can get into the semantics if you wish, since you do still have to pay for the Netflix subscription itself. Which would technically make these games cost something. Depending on how you look at it.
The point is though, you aren’t paying for anything on top of the subscription to access them. That being said, the games are exclusively available to Netflix members. So it’s not like there’s an opportunity to buy any of them on mobile.
Netflix adds two games from Annapurna Interactive
Among the five new games which have joined the app recently, two of them are launching today. These are both from Annapurna Interactive and they’re both adventure games. So expect a heavy emphasis on narrative and less action. The first title is called Kentucky Route Zero. An award-winning adventure game with mystical undertones and an intriguing story told across five acts.
Initially when this game first released in 2013, only Act 1 was available. With the following four acts being released episodically, landing on Act V which launched in 2020. The Netflix version includes all five acts, making this an awesome pickup. The second game from Annapurna is called Twelve Minutes. It’s another adventure game but this time with some more adult themes. It’s a thriller featuring some big-name voice actors and definitely worth a look.
You can view both trailers below. In addition to these two games, Netflix has also added Scriptic: Crime Stories, Solitaire, and Too Hot To Handle: Love Is A Game. All new titles are available to install through the Netflix mobile app at the time of writing. Though if you’re looking for two to really pull you in, we’d suggest the two Annapurna Interactive titles to start.
