The OnePlus 11 is right around the corner, but the OnePlus 10 Pro is still one of the best smartphones at the moment. If you’re still thinking of buying it, we have a new comparison to share. In this article, we’ll compare the OnePlus 10 Pro vs Apple iPhone 14 Plus. These two devices have a similar price tag, and they’re both quite large phones. Comparing them does make sense, from a number of angles.
We’ll kick things off by listing their specifications, as per usual. Then we’ll compare them across a number of categories, including design, display, performance, battery, cameras, and audio. These two handsets are actually quite different. Their size and price tags are the rare similarities between the two, and that should make things rather interesting. Let’s kick this off, shall we?

OnePlus 10 Pro vs Apple iPhone 14 Plus: Design
These two phones look completely different. They are, however, made out of similar materials. The frame is made out of aluminum in both cases, while you’ll find glass on the back. That’s where similarities end, though. The OnePlus 10 Pro has a lot more curves than the iPhone 14 Plus. The iPhone 14 Plus actually has completely flat sides, all around, and flat front and back sides. You can say it’s kind of boxy. The OnePlus 10 Pro has a curved back, curved frame, and even its display is curved.
The OnePlus 10 Pro includes a display camera hole in the top-left corner. The iPhone 14 Plus has a notch at the top of its display, which is a lot more of an eyesore than the hole punch. Both phones do have thin bezels, and both are quite slippery in the hand. The iPhone 14 Plus does cut into the hand more, mainly due to the way it’s designed. The OnePlus 10 Pro is a bit taller, a lot narrower, and also slightly thicker. They’re about the same in terms of weight, though.
When you flip the two phones over, you’ll notice they’re also quite different from the back perspective. The OnePlus 10 Pro has three cameras on the back, inside a camera island that kind of connects to the frame of the device, for design purposes. The iPhone 14 Plus has that well-known Apple camera design on the back, and two cameras inside that module. Considering how slippery the phones are, using a case is definitely not a bad idea. Both do feel premium in the hand, though. It’s also worth noting that both offer IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.
OnePlus 10 Pro vs Apple iPhone 14 Plus: Display
They both have large displays, and even displays that are identical in terms of size. They do offer different aspect ratios, and are different in many ways. The OnePlus 10 Pro includes a 6.7-inch QHD+ (3216 x 1440) LTPO2 Fluid AMOLED display. This panel is curved, and it offers an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It supports HDR10+ content, and it gets up to 1,300 nits of brightness at its peak. We’re looking at a 20:9 display aspect ratio here. This panel is protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus.
The Apple iPhone 14 Plus features a 6.7-inch 2778 x 1284 Super Retina XDR OLED display. This panel is flat, and it has a 60Hz refresh rate, so it doesn’t offer a high refresh rate. It supports HDR10 content, and Dolby Vision too. This panel gets up to 1,200 nits of brightness at its peak, and it has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The Ceramic Shield glass protection is also included here.
The OnePlus 10 Pro does have a better display here, that’s for sure. Not only does its display offers a higher resolution, but it supports a high refresh rate. HDR10+ support is also a bonus, and it also gets slightly brighter, though that’s not something you’ll notice. Touch response is great on both, as are viewing angles. Both displays do look good, though, they’re more than sharp enough, offer vivid colors, and deep blacks. Both will serve most of you well, but if you want a better panel, the OnePlus 10 Pro wins here.
OnePlus 10 Pro vs Apple iPhone 14 Plus: Performance
The OnePlus 10 Pro is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. It also includes up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 flash storage. The iPhone 14 Plus is fueled by the Apple A15 Bionic SoC, while it includes 6GB of RAM and NVMe storage. Both of these phones deliver when performance is concerned. They’re really smooth in day-to-day tasks, and the same goes for gaming as well.
You won’t have any issues browsing, opening and closing apps, consuming multimedia, and so on. Every single one of those day-to-day tasks is a joy to do on both phones, they’re buttery smooth. The OnePlus 10 Pro has a number of gaming features that may come in handy, and it performs really well even with the most demanding games. It does get a bit warm if you’re gaming for longer periods, but the same goes for the iPhone 14 Plus. Apple’s handset can also handle pretty much any game out there without a problem, so no worries there.
OnePlus 10 Pro vs Apple iPhone 14 Plus: Battery
A 5,000mAh battery sits inside the OnePlus 10 Pro. The iPhone 14 Plus includes a somewhat smaller 4,323mAh battery. The thing is, iOS handles battery consumption differently, so this difference should not alarm you, at all. iPhones usually have smaller batteries than their Android counterparts. The point is, the battery life is really, really good on both smartphones. I’ll even go as far as saying that it’s excellent.
Most phones in this category provide around 6-7 hours of screen-on-time, but both of these can go the distance. We were able to get around 8-9 hours of screen-on-time with the OnePlus 10 Pro, and the iPhone 14 Plus is capable of replicating that, or at least coming close to it. Do note that these are only our results, though, your mileage may vary. There are a lot of factors included here. The point is, both smartphones do offer excellent battery life.
When charging is concerned, however, the OnePlus 10 Pro is the winner. It offers 80W wired charging (65W in the US), 50W wireless charging, and also reverse wireless charging. The iPhone 14 Plus supports 20W wired, 15W MagSafe wireless, and 7.5W Qi wireless charging. It’s also worth noting that the OnePlus 10 Pro comes with a fast charging adapter in the box, while the iPhone 14 Plus doesn’t include a charger at all.
OnePlus 10 Pro vs Apple iPhone 14 Plus: Cameras
The OnePlus 10 Pro features three cameras on the back. A 48-megapixel main camera is backed by a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, and an 8-megapixel telephoto unit. The iPhone 14 Plus packs in a 12-megapixel main camera, and a 12-megapixel ultrawide unit. Both phones provide good pictures, but they’re very different in their approach, and the results are quite different too.
OnePlus did improve the OnePlus 10 Pro camera since launch, quite a bit. We had some issues with focusing back then, which has been fixed rather fast. This is a reliable camera at this point, at least when it comes and ultrawide cameras are concerned. The telephoto camera still provides mixed results. The images from the iPhone 14 Plus are slightly more lifelike, but the phone does struggle in HDR conditions at times, as it mishandles highlights at times. The iPhone 14 Plus’ ultrawide camera is better at sticking to the same color science as the main camera, compared to the OnePlus 10 Pro’s offering.
Low light results are great on both phones, but different. The OnePlus 10 Pro tends to brighten up the scene more than the iPhone 14 Plus. Both results do end up looking really good, though, it’s just a matter of preference. The video recording is still better on the iPhone 14 Plus, overall.
Audio
You will find stereo speakers on both of these phones. Despite the fact they’re not the best speakers we’ve heard, they’re not bad at all, quite the contrary. They do offer a rather rich sound, and even some bass in there. They’re also loud enough. The sound output is not too different in comparison, to be quite honest.
What you will not find on either phone is a 3.5mm headphone jack. You can still use their charging ports for a wired audio connection, though. The OnePlus 10 Pro includes a Type-C port, while the iPhone 14 Plus has a Lightning port included. Bluetooth 5.2 and 5.3, respectively, are also included, for a wireless audio connection.
