Samsung has released the stable Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update for the Galaxy S21 series. As of this writing, the update is rolling out in multiple countries in Europe, including the UK and Germany. A wider rollout, including in the US, should follow in the coming days.
The European versions of the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra are receiving the latest update with firmware version G99*BXXU5DVJC. The new software package for the phones bundles the October security patch, which they have already received. But more importantly, it’s Android 13 and One UI 5.0 that they are getting. There’s plenty to talk about here.
The Android13-based One UI 5.0 custom software brings tons of new features and changes to Galaxy devices. Samsung has tweaked the UI and improved system animations for a smoother user experience. The company has also made customizations easier and added new options so you can quickly change the loom and feel of your phone the way you like. With improved modes and Bixby routines, you can automate various tasks more efficiently and effectively.
Multitasking gets faster with new gestures and improved homescreen widgets while controlling connected devices is earlier than ever. New photography and editing features will allow your inner photographer to come out more confidently. Last but not least, Samsung has improved its stock apps to give users a more optimized experience.
The Galaxy S21 series joins Samsung’s Android 13 party
If you’re using the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, or Galaxy S21 Ultra in Europe, Android 13 should be available to you anytime now. As usual, the update will roll out over the air (OTA). You will be notified about it. You can also check for updates from the Settings app. Since it’s a major release with the OTA file weighing over 2GB, we advise you to connect your phone to a stable Wi-Fi network before downloading the update if you’re on a limited mobile data plan. Of course, the stable package will be smaller in size for those in beta versions.
The Galaxy S21 series joins the Galaxy S22 in Samsung’s Android 13 party. The latter picked up the update last month. The Korean firm will seed the new Android version to dozens of other Galaxy smartphone and tablet models in the coming weeks. The Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy S20 series, and Galaxy Tab S8 series, are all scheduled to receive Android 13 and One UI 5.0 this month. We will keep you posted with all those updates.
