After a few weeks of beta testing, the latest version (v19) of Samsung Internet is rolling out to the public. Samsung Internet 19 adds a bunch of privacy and security features, enabling more secure internet access.

For starters, a new Privacy Info feature lets you quickly check and delete all cookies a website is using. You can access it by tapping on the “Lock” icon in the URL bar. It also tells you whether the connection is secure. A similar feature also exists on some other best internet browsers, including Google Chrome. The latter also notes when you last visited the website.

With the latest update, the Samsung Internet homescreen widget shows your recent search history. You can tap on an item to resume your search journey. Additionally, Secret Mode now allows you to use add-ons such as ad blockers. You’ll have to manually enable the “Allow in Secret Mode” option for each add-on you want to use in Secret Mode. This change will elevate your internet browsing experience on Samsung’s browser app.

For added privacy, Samsung Internet 19 will warn users when they visit malicious websites. When a malicious website is detected, it will cut off access and advise you to go back. If you feel the website is safe or you must visit it, you can ignore the warning and proceed. These warnings are often accurate, so make sure to be cautious when you’re on such suspicious websites. Avoid downloading files from those platforms. Samsung also now allows third-party apps to offer filters for content blocking.

Last but not least, the latest update for Samsung Internet further improves the company’s Smart Anti-Tracking feature. It already blocks websites from tracking your online activities on the app. It can now detect domains that use cookies for cross-site tracking and block those as well. Your browsing is more private than ever. You can always visit the privacy dashboard for detailed metrics and privacy settings.

Samsung Internet 19 is now rolling out

During the beta period, Samsung tested a cross-platform bookmark syncing feature with Google Chrome for its browser app. The changelog for the public release doesn’t mention that (via). It’s unclear if the feature has been dropped or it’s still present. The best way would be to check for it on the latest version. Unfortunately, Samsung Internet 19 isn’t widely available yet. Rolling out with version number 19.0.1.2, the app is currently only available to some Galaxy users. A wider rollout for non-Galaxy devices should follow soon. If you use Samsung Internet, you can click the button below to check for an update on the Google Play Store.
