Samsung plans to roll out the stable Android 13 update to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 this month and is on track for it. Perhaps the update may not be too far off now. The latest foldable has received yet another beta release. This is the third One UI 5.0 beta for the phone and comes just a week after the second build. In fact, the phone has picked up beta updates every week for the past three weeks. The stable rollout could begin soon.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 gets its third Android 13 beta update in three weeks

The latest beta release for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 comes with a firmware version ending with ZVK1. It bundles the November 2022 Android security patch, which we have seen in other beta updates too, but not yet with stable releases. The OTA (over-the-air) package for users on Beta 2 weighs just over 540MB (via). As for the content of the update, it’s all about bug fixes and improvements. Samsung isn’t adding any new features, which is understandable at this point. The company has already tested all the new features and is refining those for the public rollout.

According to the official changelog, Samsung has fixed the extensive battery drainage problem on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 with this beta release. The company doesn’t detail the issue but the foldable shouldn’t consume too much power now. The previous beta builds contained a bug that caused the phone to crash when trying to set lockscreen shortcuts on both left and right sides. The new release fixes that problem. The issue of the status bar disappearing has also been fixed.

Additionally, Samsung has ironed out a Bluetooth keyboard issue that didn’t allow users to type in Korean. Samsung Pay gestures also now work properly when the device is folded. Last but not least, the Korean firm has patched problems in the camera app and the cover screen. All in all, the latest beta release is a huge step towards the stable Android 13 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4. It may arrive by mid-November.

Along with the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Samsung also plans to release the Android 13 update for more than a dozen other Galaxy models this month. The likes of the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3 are all expected to receive the new Android version within the next few weeks. We will let you know when those updates arrive.
