The Samsung Galaxy S22 series is widely receiving the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 stable update in the US. The rollout began for the carrier-locked units shortly after international versions last week. In recent days, the unlocked Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra have also picked up the new Android version stateside.

The stable Android 13 update for the carrier-locked Galaxy S22 trio in the US is S90*USQU2BVJA. That for the unlocked units is S90*U1UEU2BVJA. The update comes with the October security patch, which the devices have picked up before. While the November security patch isn’t arriving just yet, there are plenty of other things to talk about here. From improved UI and animations to new features and enhancements, Android 13 and One UI 5.0 bring a lot to Galaxy devices.

Samsung has improved the aesthetics of One UI with bolder app icons, smoother animations, and enhanced colors and effects in the latest version. You also get more customization options for wallpapers and lock screens. Widgets have been improved to enhance productivity. Speaking of multitasking, we now have new gestures for switching to pop-up view and split-screen mode. Samsung has added new features and improvements to the camera, gallery, settings, AR Emoji, Samsung Keyboard, Samsung DeX, photo editor, video editor, notification panel, and other apps and services.

Android 13 will reach more Galaxy devices soon

The Galaxy S22 trio are the only Samsung devices to pick up the stable Android 13 update so far. But the list will grow a lot longer in the coming weeks. Samsung plans to push the big Android update to 20 device models in November. These include the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Tab S8 series, Galaxy Tab S7 series, Galaxy Quantum 3, Galaxy A53 5G, and Galaxy A33 5G. The update won’t necessarily roll out in this order, though.

Samsung published this roadmap in its homeland South Korea last week. You can check out the full roadmap here. It should be applicable in other markets too. The rollout may vary by a few days, but not much. Just note that some devices are only available in South Korea, such as the Galaxy Quantum 3. It is based on the Galaxy M53 5G. Likewise, some eligible global models that weren’t released in Samsung’s homeland don’t appear on the list. Rest assured, we will let you know when the Android 13 update rolls out to the remaining eligible Galaxy devices.
