Google has finally decided to fix the battery stats page in the latest Android 13 update. We’re talking about Android 13 QPR1 Beta 2 here, and this fix will hopefully roll out to the stable version in the near future.

Latest Android 13 update vastly improves battery stats page

What fix are we talking about? Well, some of you will recall that, with the release of Android 12, Google changed up the battery stats page, as it removed some important info. It no longer showed stats from the last full charge. Instead, it started showing usage from the past 24 hours, regardless of when you charged the device.

Luckily, Google realized that was the wrong move, and finally decided to revert the change. After the Android 13 QPR1 Beta 2 update, you can once again see the “battery level since last full charge”, by default.

You can see hourly breakdowns as well. Needless to say, this is far more informative than sharing battery stats for the last 24 hours. Users have been wanting this change since Android 12, and it’s finally here.

This change is useful for regular users, but it’s especially useful for us, who review phones. Just to be clear, many Android OEMs never stopped including such info (luckily), we’re talking about Google’s Android build here, of course.

The “battery level since last full charge” is now shown by default

So, when will this change arrive to the stable version of Android? Google could bring it over with the next monthly update (in November), though if we had to guess, we’d say it’s coming in December. Why? Well, that’s when Google is expected to roll out the next Pixel Feature Drop update.
