Mozilla has released Firefox version 104 for Android. The latest update for the browser brings address autofill, a feature its arch-rival Google Chrome has had for years. You can save your address once and have the browser automatically pull it up whenever needed.
Firefox 104 brings address autofill
Firefox 104 adds a new option to save address under the Autofill menu in Settings. It lets you enter a detailed postal address complete with your full name, phone number, and email. Once saved, Firefox will show a prompt with a one-tap button to autofill your address when a website asks for it. You can always edit or change your address from the same Settings menu.
This is a handy feature to have in a browser. Google Chrome has had it for more than two years now. But all this while, Mozilla forced Firefox users to painstakingly type in their addresses in online forms every time they needed to. The company is finally relieving them from this pain. You still have the option to disable address autofill if you enjoy manually typing your address.
The latest update for Firefox also adds more options to delete your browsing history. You can now choose to only delete history for the past hour or the past two days. This is on top of the existing option to delete the entire browsing history at once.
As usual, this update brings some bug fixes as well. Mozilla says it has resolved an issue where the browser crashed when opening a link from an external app. If you use LastPass as your password manager, you may have noticed that the autofill prompt from the app was misplaced on Firefox. Version 104 fixes that positioning error, with the widget now rightly appearing below the login field.
Mozilla has also fixed several other minor bugs related to the microphone, GPU blocklist, and HTTPS-only errors. The company has made some performance improvements as well. You can check out the full changelog here.
The desktop version is also getting some new features
Firefox 104 is also available on the desktop, with a few notable improvements in tow. Firstly, the browser now shows subtitles when playing content on Disney+ in Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode. Other changes allow for improved performance and battery life. Firefox will analyze the power usage of websites and throttle Firefox UI to limit the use of system resources. Similar throttling also applies to background tabs on the browser.
The latest update for Firefox for Android is now available to download from the Google Play Store (link below). You can also download the new version for the desktop from the official website.
