Today Amazon has officially announced the latest games being added to Luna, all of which will be coming for the month of August. Since its launch, Luna has been one of the more quiet cloud gaming services. While it has routinely added games every single month, it has, by comparison, added less games than competing services.
It also generally only has one communicative update per month. Whereas services like GeForce NOW, Stadia, and cloud gaming with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate all tend to post updates about their respective services on a weekly basis. This isn’t really a bad thing for Luna. It’s merely an observation of how details about new content are being distributed to subscribers. All of that aside, subscribers can expect to get six new games to play.
Luna gets five new games for the month of August
Amazon is adding five new games this coming month, and two of them are heavy hitters. One is Control Ultimate Edition. Which features some really cool combat and gunplay and an awesome narrative. The other sort of big game is Myst. If you’re not familiar with Myst, it was originally a PC game that came out in the early 90s.
It’s filled with mystery and intrigue, and your goal as the player to figure out what happened on Myst island. If you like adventure and puzzle games, then you’ll no doubt love Myst. Both Myst and Control Ultimate Edition will be added to the Prime Gaming Channel sometime next month.
In addition to these games, Luna subscribers in August will also get access to Garfield Kart and Steel Assault. Also both being added to the Prime Gaming Channel. Lastly, there’s Dusk will be added to the Retro Channel, and Amazon says Crazy Worms Golf is “still coming to the Family Channel in July.” Seeing as it’s July 28, there’s only a few days left for the game to show up.
Amazon doesn’t mention any specific dates for the release of these new games on the service. But expect at least one or two of them to be more towards the beginning of the month.
