The upcoming OnePlus 8T 5G may end up costing less than you think. Well, at least according to a new report that surfaced in China. This information comes from IT Home, by the way.
The OnePlus 8T 5G may end up costing less than most people think
The source claims that the device will be priced between CNY3,000 ($467) and CNY4,000 ($596). Do note that these are Chinese price tags we’re talking about, it will be a bit more expensive globally.
Still, if this info ends up being true, the OnePlus 8T 5G may end up being more affordable than a number of recent high-end phones from the company. The OnePlus 7T was immensely popular for OnePlus, and this may have a similar appeal, though it’ll likely cost a bit more.
We’re not sure where IT Home got this information, so take it with a grain of salt. As the phone’s launch gets closer, we’ll likely get more information, and more accurate information at that. It would be nice to see some projections for the US or Europe.
The lower price tag is not all that surprising, though
This lower price tag is not that surprising, though. Why? Well, OnePlus released a single flagship smartphone this year, the OnePlus 10 Pro. That handset is priced at $899, and the OnePlus 10T 5G is expected to be a level below the 10 Pro.
That device is expected to include a better SoC, though, the all-new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. It is also tipped to have faster charging. Other than that, the OnePlus 10 Pro will likely take the lead in many other categories.
The OnePlus 10T 5G likely won’t include wireless charging, and it will also have an inferior display to the OnePlus 10 Pro. We’re still not sure what the camera situation will be, but chances are the 10 Pro will have an edge in that regard as well.
All things considered, though, the OnePlus 10T 5G could end up being quite popular for OnePlus. The company needs to get the major things right, and that includes its price tag. Things are looking promising at this point.
