Listed below are some useful tips you can use to up your Galaxy A53 5G experience. They go over how to use them and how they help you out.

Use the power button to summon Bixby

Bixby is Samsung’s homegrown voice assistant, and it’s gotten a lot of love (and hate) over the years. You can access it using your voice, but you can also do so with the power button.

Go into the settings and find the Advanced Functions button. From there, scroll down to the Side Key option. There, you’ll see a page where you can choose what additional functions you want to add to the power button.

The bottom section of the page lets you choose what happens when you hold it down. By default, holding the power button brings up the power menu. Tap on the Wake Bixby option and you’ll summon Bixby instead. You’ll be able to talk to Bixby like you would a walkie-talkie. When you do that, holding the power button and the volume-down button will bring up the power menu.

You can take a screenshot with your palm

You can take a screenshot by simply swiping the side of your palm across the screen. Go to your settings, find the Advanced Functions option again, and go to Motion and Gestures. From there, scroll to the very bottom and you’ll see an option called Palm swipe to capture. Flip the switch on.

To take the screenshot, slide the side of your palm from one end of the phone to the other. Just let the bulk of your palm touch the screen and not any of your fingers.

Don’t want to use your hands? You can take screenshots with your voice

If you want to take a screenshot using Bixby, you can do that. If you have Bixby set up to wake using your voice, just say “Hey Bixby, take a screenshot”. Just bear in mind that it will take just a few seconds for Bixby to actually take the shot.

You can add tags to pictures and videos for faster searching

To add a tag, go to the Gallery app. Tap and hold on a photo or video and tap on the three-dot button on the bottom labeled More. In the little popup that appears, you’ll see the option to add a tag.

Tapping on the option will bring up a popup with some suggestions for tags to add. At the bottom, you’ll see a text field where you can type in your own tag. After you type in the tag, you’ll press the “+” button to apply it to the content.

When you press the search option in Samsung’s Gallery app, you’ll see the tags pop up on the top of the screen to help you search more quickly.

You can change your theme color based on your wallpaper

Your Galaxy A53 5G uses Android 12, so you can set your theme’s color to match your wallpaper. When you set your wallpaper, you’ll see some options for color palettes based on the prominent colors in your wallpaper. You’ll have four options, and the software will show you a preview of the color palette up top.

You can screen record natively

If you want to record a video of what’s happening on your display, you can do so. In the notification shade, look through your quick settings to find the Screen Record button. From there, you’ll see some options to adjust the recording. When you press the record button, you’ll see a countdown.

You change your app icons

There’s an easy way to change the appearance of your icons without changing the entire theme. Hold your finger down on an empty space on the home screen and tap on the Theme button. Tap on Icons on the bottom.

You’re able to choose which icons you want to apply to your home screen while keeping the rest of your theme the same. Just bear in mind that some of the icon packs do cost money.
