A new update has started rolling out to the OnePlus Nord, and it brings lots of fixes, along with some new features. This update actually follows the one that arrived to the OnePlus Nord 2 earlier this week. The OnePlus Nord 2 started receiving Android 12, by the way.
The OnePlus Nord is receiving a new update with plenty of fixes & new features
Do note that this update for the OnePlus Nord is starting to roll out in India first. It’s expected to make its way to other regions really soon, though, as is usually the case.
The update is marked as OxygenOS 12 F.12. It actually brings a nice balance of bug fixes, and new features, which is not something we see often. So, let’s check out the changelog.
When it comes to features, OnePlus added the Smart Battery Engine, which should improve battery life. It relies on smart algorithms and biomimetic self-restoration technology.
New style options for Cards are included
New style options for Cards have also been added, and you can now access the OnePlus Scout in Shelf as well. In other words, you can search multiple contents on your phone, including Apps, Settings, Media Data, and so on.
The WorkLife Balance feature has been added as well, allowing you to switch between Work and Life modes via Quick Settings. Automatic Work/Life mode switching is also supported.
The OnePlus Gallery learned some new tricks
When it comes to the OnePlus Gallery, you can now switch between different layouts with a two-finger pinch gesture. The app can also intelligently recognize the best-quality pictures, and more.
New diverse styles of lines and colors have been added to Canvas AOD, and the same goes for multiple brushes and strokes. Canvas AOD now also supports color adjustment.
HyberBoost frame rate stabilizer has been added
The ‘Games’ section also lists some interesting additions. HyperBoost end-to-end frame rate stabilizer has been added. On top of that, the voice effect preview is here to allow you to record your voice effect or check your voice effect in real-time.
The last addition comes in the form of a new security patch. Android security patch for May 2022 has been included in this update.
Quite a few fixes have been issues as well
Now, when it comes to fixes, there are quite a few of them. OnePlus fixes the issue in which the sound played abnormally. It also fixed an occasional issue that make it impossible to start ‘OK Google’ with voice.
If you’ve been having issues with the Safe Mode popup in some scenarios, that has also been fixed. Issues with the Camera displaying abnormally in some scenarios has also been fixed. The last fix that the company listed has to do with the charging icon displaying in an odd way.
The update is now rolling out OTA (Over The Air). As already mentioned, it’s coming to India at the moment, but it could start rolling out in other markets any day now.
