Google Photos is a great application, it truly is. Users have recognized that, and many of them are using it. Still, some of the features are still missing, despite the fact they’ve been requested over and over. Well, one such feature has just become available. You can now finally delete your images directly from Google Photos albums.

Google Photos app now allows you to delete pictures directly from albums

As some of you probably already know, all you could do, while browsing images in an album, is to remove them from that album. That didn’t delete the picture from Google Photos, though. So if you wanted to delete it from Google Photos as well, you had to track it down on your timeline. Needless to say, that is easier said than done if it’s not a recent image.

Well, Google, thankfully, finally offers that feature. All you have to do is open an album, open a picture you’d like to delete, tap the three dots in the top-right corner, and then scroll to the last option in the horizontal list.

That last option will be the ‘Move to trash’ one. You’ll not only see it in writing, but also a trash can icon. Do note that you don’t even have to open that picture. You can simply long-press on it, and then tap the three dots in the top-right corner. There will only be three options in the drop-down menu, and the last one will be the ‘Move to trash’ one. That way it’s even faster to do.

This feature has been available on the desktop client for a long time now

It is worth noting that this feature has been available on the desktop Google Photos client for years. That’s why it’s especially odd it wasn’t available in the app. Well, now it is.

One thing to note is that this option is only available in private albums. You won’t have it in shared albums, which is quite odd, but there you go. It’s especially on since it’s available in the iOS version of the app.

Google Photos app is getting better by the day, but some features are still missing. I, personally, would love to be able to see all pictures from the timeline that are not in an album. That would definitely help with organization. That’s just one example, though.
