The Withings ScanWatch Horizon is now officially available in the U.S. as a premium hybrid smartwatch with all the essential fitness tracking features. The company announced plans for a US unveiling last month, so this was always on the cards.
Withings initially launched the ScanWatch Horizon in September 2021 across Europe, and it has taken its sweet time to reach U.S. shelves. The company says this model is “inspired by the luxury diver watch tradition,” in addition to the high-end sensors underneath. It also has a sapphire glass case backed by an anti-reflection coating. There’s a stainless steel rotating bezel as well, complete with laser-engraved markings (via Phone Arena).
The ScanWatch Horizon will be available in the U.S. via Amazon, Best Buy, and Withings’ online store
The wearable leverages the Withings Health Mate app to pair with the ScanWatch Horizon. This app also provides access to all the health data recorded on the smartwatch. Withings is bundling a plethora of health and fitness-related features with its premium offering, too, including atrial fibrillation via ECG, a SpO2 sensor, a VO2 Max sensor, and a PPG sensor that can scan the user’s heart-rate every 10 minutes.
The ScanWatch Horizon can automatically track various activities, including running, walking, and calories burned. This also works for water sports such as swimming, diving, snorkeling, etc. Withings says customers can use the ECG sensor on the smartwatch even when underwater. The wearable also provides sleep monitoring capabilities and training modes for up to 30 activities like hiking, biking, etc.
The ScanWatch Horizon can last for up to 30 days on a single charge
If the luxury design and the premium health tracking features don’t impress you, the battery life surely will. The company claims the ScanWatch Horizon can last for up to 30 days, though we’re unsure if it would last that long for power users.
The ScanWatch Horizon is available via Amazon, Best Buy, and Withings’ own online store for $499.95. Customers can get it in Blue and Green colors, although there’s only one size available (43mm). Withings will provide an FKM strap and a stainless steel wristband with the ScanWatch Horizon. The ScanWatch Horizon is backed by a 5-year guarantee to make the deal even sweeter.
“Sophisticated health devices that monitor advanced vitals do not have to look like hospital equipment. With the original ScanWatch, the elegant Rose Gold version, and now ScanWatch Horizon, we have a style option to meet every fashion preference, social occasion, and budget,” Withings CEO Mathieu Letombe said.
