The Xiaomi 12 Ultra rumors and leaks are all over the place. The camera island that the company plans to use appeared a number of times already, and now some info appeared with it. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra may end up featuring a 1-inch camera sensor, Lidar, and more.
The Xiaomi 12 Ultra may utilize 1-inch camera sensor, Lidar, and more
Now, if you take a look at the image below, which appeared on Weibo (via Slashleaks), you’ll see an alleged Xiaomi 12 Ultra case, with a number of cutouts on the back. You’ll notice a massive cutout in the middle, which is allegedly reserved for a 1-inch camera sensor.
The Xiaomi 12 Ultra will allegedly utilize Sony’s Exmor IMX800, which is a 1/1.1-inch unit (or the Sony IMX989 sensor). That is a huge sensor, needless to say. In addition to that, there are tons of additional cutouts on the back.
We, of course, don’t exactly know what they’re reserved for, but plenty of sensors will be included here. Telephoto and ultrawide cameras will certainly be a part of the package. One of the cutouts will be for a dual LED flash, but what about the rest?
A 50-megapixel main camera may be included, and the company’s own ISP
Now, based on a report from IT Home, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will utilize a 50-megapixel main camera, a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 48-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. On top of that. Lidar sensors will also be included in the package.
A 48-megapixel selfie camera was also mentioned. Now, that periscope telephoto lens we’ve mentioned will allegedly be capable of offering zoom levels up to 120x. On top of all that, Xiaomi will allegedly include its own ISP (Image Signal Processor), the Surge C2 or Surging C2 chip.
Do take this information with a grain of salt, of course. We’re not entirely sure about these camera specs. One thing is for sure, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will include plenty of powerful camera hardware.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ is said to fuel the Xiaomi 12 Ultra
What about the rest of its specs? Well, the phone is tipped to utilize the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC. That is the upcoming chip that will be manufactured by TSMC, and offer better thermals than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
A 6.73-inch curved QHD+ AMOLED display is also tipped to be included, and yes, it will offer a 120Hz refresh rate. In fact, it will offer an adaptive refresh rate, as this will be an LTPO panel. The device will also ship with Android 12.
The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is expected to arrive in the coming months, and chances are we’ll see more information leak out before it becomes official.
