There are one-off tasks that we do during the day, and there are recurring tasks that need to be repeated every day. Google Tasks lets you set recurring tasks that automatically repeat. While that feature is useful, users weren’t able to set end dates for those Google Tasks. However, According to a Google Workspace blog post, that just changed.
When you make a new task in Google Tasks, you have the option to make it a recurring task that will repeat. The issue is that you didn’t have the option to end it on a certain date. It would go on until you deleted the task altogether. That’s a bit of an annoyance, as you would either have to delete the task or add the end date in Google Calendar.
But, you can now set end dates for your Google Tasks
Google just posted a new Workspace blog post telling us about this new change. When you start a new task, you’ll have the option to have it repeat. When you tap the repeat button, you’ll usually get a small popup that lets you select the intervals you want it to repeat and what day.
However, after this latest change, the popup is bigger. It shows an “End” section where you can select the end date. So, you can pick the day you want the task to end automatically. It’s a small addition, but it’s useful to have. The rollout started May 4th, and it’s going on until May 19th, so if you don’t have it yet, hang tight and wait for it to reach your phone.
What is Google Tasks?
In case you don’t know what Google Tasks is, it’s a useful tool if you want to be organized. It’s a to-do list app where you can set tasks that you want to complete throughout the day. When the time for the task arrives, you’ll get a notification on your phone.
What’s neat about this app is that it’s a native Google product. This means that your tasks are synced with your other Google products. You’ll be able to see your tasks on Google Calendar as well. You can access your tasks on different Android phones with the same Gmail account. If you want to try the app out for yourself, it’s free to download and use.
