The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra renders have just surfaced, showing us the design of the device. The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra, based on these images, looks very similar to the Galaxy S22 Ultra, but it doesn’t have a display hole.

The upcoming ZTE Axon 40 Ultra actually resembles the Galaxy S22 Ultra

That’s not a bad thing at all. This more or less looks like a better design because of it. Based on these renders, the bezels are basically non-existent, as a tipster promised recently, when he teased the arrival of this phone. He also drew the Galaxy S22 Ultra comparison.

The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra is the company’s upcoming flagship which utilizes an under-display camera. That’s why it doesn’t have a display hole or a notch, and why its bezels can be so thin.

The display is curved, and based on the provided image, it’s actually curved quite considerably. The camera setup on the back also resembles the one on the Galaxy S22 Ultra, to a degree. The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra will include a dedicated camera island, though.

The top and bottom sides of the phone are flat, while there’s a lot of curvature on the sides. That’s also something it has similar to the Galaxy S22 Ultra. The device seems to be made out of metal and glass, while ZTE’s logo is present on the back.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is expected, along with up to 16GB of RAM

Now, in regards to its specs, it’s rumored to include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. That is Qualcomm’s most powerful processor to date, so its inclusion doesn’t come as a surprise.

The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra will feature up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 flash storage. A 5,000mAh battery was also mentioned in leaks, and the same goes for 65W fast wired charging.

In regards to its launch date, that’s also something we already know. ZTE will announce this phone on May 9 in China.
