Twitter’s chief lawyer Vijaya Gadde is at the risk of losing her job after the Elon Musk could complete the buyout and takeover of the company, The New York Post reports,

Vijaya Gadde is a name that is on the top of the headlines these days. She is Twitter’s chief lawyer and general counsel of the company. Her salary also has become a controversial issue as she makes $17 million per year. Now, she may have to leave the company. The tension between Elon Musk and Vijaya Gadde may even change the passway of  Twitter takeover.

Musk still hasn’t detailed his plans for the future of the company. However, reducing the number of employees and cutting the payments to the company’s executives are reportedly his priorities. Musk previously announced he has “no confidence” in Twitter’s current management. So we can predict that extensive managerial changes will take place on Twitter.

Elon Musk has also posted a meme about Gadde and depicted her as oblivious to a “liberal bias” on Twitter. The meme returns to Gandhi’s interview with conservative journalist Tim Pool. In that interview, Pool accused Twitter of blocking right-wing voices.

Vijaya Gadde reportedly has an active role in the company’s censorship policies

But what puts Gadde in the spotlight is her active role in censoring certain content on the platform. The journalist Saagar Enjeti called Gadde Twitter’s “top censorship advocate” and mentioned her role in censoring the Hunter Biden laptop story. Later, Musk said blocking the links to the New York Post’s coverage of Hunter Biden’s laptop was “obviously incredibly inappropriate.”

Twitter even tried to justify its actions by labeling the story and saying that the “content obtained through hacking contains private information.” Of course, a top Twitter executive defended Gadde and accused Musk of “misogyny.”

Meanwhile, Twitter’s top executives stood up to defend their colleagues. Lara Cohen, Twitter’s global head of partners, shared a support message for Leslie Berland, who is under the fire for her claims in a leaked audio, saying Musk’s plans for free speech put them in “a very difficult position.”

Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley also lashed out at Gadde, saying she was “the same one who led the charge to censor the Hunter Biden laptop reporting. Says it all.”

Hawley even asked Musk to investigate “who was responsible for deliberately suppressing the New York Post’s now-vindicated reporting on Hunter Biden’s laptop and business dealings.”

The coming months will be stressful for Twitter. Elon Musk is expected to complete the Twitter takeover soon. Also, his fans expect him to shake the company’s policy over free speech.
