Three Samsung smartphones are getting the April security update in the US as we speak, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Note 10, and carrier-locked Galaxy S22 models.
The Galaxy Z Fold, Note 10 & carrier-locked S22 models in the US are getting the April update
The April 2022 security patch is not bringing any new features to the table, but it does improve the security and stability of the installed software. It also addresses some Samsung DeX issues. A number of Samsung devices got it up to this point.
In the case of the Galaxy Z Fold 2, the firmware number is F916U1UES2GVC8. This update will come knocking on its own, but you can check for it manually via the ‘Software update’ section in the ‘Settings’. That goes for all three phones, of course.
The Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ are also getting the update. Do note that both unlocked and carrier-locked models in the US are getting it. For the unlocked models, we’re looking at the ‘N97xU1UES7HFCD’ firmware number. For carrier-locked models, it’s the ‘N97xUSQS7HVCD’ firmware number.
All three carrier-locked Galaxy S22 models are included
And last, but not least, the carrier-locked Galaxy S22 models. All three devices are getting this update, the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra. We’re looking at the same firmware version for all three, the ‘S906USQU1AVCJ’.
The April 2022 security patch does fix 88 privacy and security vulnerabilities. Samsung is doing a great job when it comes to delivering these security updates on a monthly basis. Needless to say, that’s great to see, as security updates should be a priority for companies.
As per usual, the rollout of these updates is staged. So, you may not get it straight away, but it will arrive in the near future. Your phone will let you know once that happens, but you can also check for it manually, as mentioned earlier in the article.
