Twitter Spaces are proving to be a popular means of hosting audio live chats. While Clubhouse has brought some interesting features, Twitter is still bringing its own additions to the “space”. Now, Twitter is testing the ability to post clips from your recent Space conversation.
Clubhouse popularized the chat room app format, and other companies jumped onto the train. These platforms let you have live conversations with other people while an audience of listeners tunes in. Recently, Clubhouse introduced the ability for audience members to chat via a text-based comment section.
Twitter will let you post clips from your Space conversation
Twitter, however, is bringing its own set of unique features to the genre. In a new tweet from the company, we get insight into what’s next. Twitter is testing the ability to let you post clips from your Space conversation to your timeline. With this feature, the host can post 30-second segments from the conversation to their timeline.
The tweet didn’t explain how the users can do this, however. It could be like Twitch where people can select a clip while the conversation is happening. That seems like the most logical means, but take that with a grain of salt.
This is available for a limited number of people right now
If you’re excited to try this feature out, chances are that you’re going to have to wait. For starters, Twitter is still testing it out. Thus, only a limited selection of people can actually post clips to their timelines.
To top it off, the limited selection of hosts is only on iOS. Even being able to listen to the clips is reserved for only iOS users. Those on Android and the browser version will need to wait a bit longer.
There’s, unfortunately, no telling when this feature will make it to the public. It’s being tested now, so users need time to use the feature and give feedback to the company.
