YouTube TV has grown into a compelling TV service, and the company is constantly adding improvements to it. Right now, YouTube TV is testing out a new channel guide that will show you a picture-in-picture UI.
Google has several streaming services and platforms for users to watch their favorite content on. Most notably, there’s Google and Android TV. YouTube TV has become a mainstay on these platforms and others because of its broad selection of content to watch.
YouTube TV is testing a new channel guide
Being able to navigate the interface is an important part of any streaming service. Since YouTube TV is a TV service, it has a guide available that shows you what shows are playing on which channel. Traditionally, YouTube TV would have just a grid of the shows filling up the screen, but the channel guide just for a bit of a revamp.
Now, an update is rolling out that gives it a new look. Now, the top part of the interface is left open and it shows you what show you’ve highlighted. Over it, there’s the description of the highlighted show. You’ll be able to see the show title, description, and rating.
On the right side of this section, you’ll see a picture-in-picture window showing you what you’re currently watching. This makes it look more like what you’d see on more traditional TV interfaces. Also, it makes the overall look a lot better. You get to continue watching your current show or movie while you’re browsing through your shows.
If you’re looking forward to this change, the company is currently rolling out, so you might need to wait if you don’t see it right away. If you don’t, be sure to dig into the app’s settings and check to see if you have an update waiting. On Android, tap and hold the app’s icon and go to the “App Info” section. From there, tap on App Details to see if you have the update.
