Following the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, Samsung’s One UI 4.1 update is now live for the Galaxy S21 series as well. The 2021 Galaxy S flagships are currently picking up the new update in Canada. The foldable duo, meanwhile, is receiving it in Samsung’s homeland South Korea and some European countries. The new One UI version for all of these devices should reach more markets in the coming days and weeks.

The One UI 4.1 update for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra in Canada is rolling out with firmware version G99xWVLU5CVBA. It is available on Rogers and Sasktel networks as of this writing. Other networks should also join the party soon. The update comes complete with the March 2022 Android security patch. The latest SMR (security maintenance release) contains fixes for over 50 vulnerabilities.

If you’re using any of the aforementioned Samsung smartphones, you should be receiving the One UI 4.1 pretty soon if you haven’t already. Watch out for a notification about the OTA (over the air) release in the coming days. You can also manually check for updates from the Settings app on your phone. Simply scroll down to the Software update menu and tap on Download and install. If there’s no update available, check back again later.

One UI 4.1 is gradually rolling out to more Galaxy devices

Samsung introduced One UI 4.1 with the Galaxy S22 series last month. The latest iteration of its custom Android software brings several new features. These include enhanced Object Eraser, Google Duo live sharing, automatic photo optimization, Grammarly integration with Samsung Keyboard, and a bunch of new camera features.

The new camera features coming to the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra with the One UI 4.1 update include Night Portrait, pet recognition, lighting position editing, portrait video support for the telephoto lens, and improved Director’s View.

As said before, the One UI 4.1 update for the Galaxy S21 trio as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 is currently available in very few markets. But it shouldn’t be long before the rollout reaches more regions. Samsung should also soon begin seeding the new version to other eligible models. There are a lot of those, including all recent flagship smartphone and tablet models and several Galaxy A series mid-rangers.

Some new features may not trickle down to the affordable models. But that was always expected. We will let you know when the One UI 4.1 update goes live for other Galaxy devices.
