In addition to announcing its Find X5 Pro flagship, OPPO also announced the regular Find X5 today. That device is quite powerful in its own right, but it’s inferior to the ‘Pro’ model, of course.
The device does look like its more powerful sibling, though. It is also made out of metal and glass, and has a centered display camera hole on the front. The shape of its rear camera island is the same, even though the camera setup is not exactly identical.
The OPPO Find X5 features a 120Hz display, and Snapdragon 888 SoC
The Find X5 features a 6.55-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) curved AMOLED display. That display offers a 120Hz refresh rate, but it doesn’t seem to be an LTPO panel. Corning’s Gorilla Glass protects this display.
OPPO included the Snapdragon 888 SoC here, not the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. That is not surprising, as the company wanted the ‘Pro’ model to stand out. The Snapdragon 888 is still an extremely powerful SoC, though.
This smartphone does include an optical in-display fingerprint scanner, the same one as its ‘Pro’ sibling. The device is IP54 certified, which means it’s splash resistant, basically. It does include stereo speakers, and Dolby Atmos support.
80W wired, and 30W wireless charging support is included
A 4,800mAh battery is also included in the package, and it does support 80W fast wired charging. Fast wireless charging is also supported, up to 30W, actually.
There are three cameras on the back of this phone. A 50-megapixel main camera (f/1.8 aperture, 6P lens, OIS, 84-degree FoV) is backed by a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera (f/2.2 aperture, 7P lens, 110-degree FoV, 4cm macro). A 13-megapixel telephoto camera (f/2.4 aperture, 5P lens, 45-degree FoV) is also included.
On the front, you’ll find a 32-megapixel camera, though it’s not the same as the one on the ‘Pro’ unit. This is Sony’s IMX615 sensor, with an f/2.4 aperture. The MariSIlicon X NPU is included in this phone as well.
The phone does offer dual SIM support (nano SIM + eSIM). The Find X5 does support 5G connectivity, of course, and it also comes with Bluetooth 5.2. Facial scanning is also supported, through the phone’s front-facing camera.
Android 12 comes pre-installed, with ColorOS 12.1. The OPPO Find X5 measures 160.3 x 72.6 x 8.7mm, and weighs 218 grams. It comes in Black and White color variants.
