Samsung is prepping for the 2022 refresh of its mid-range smartphone lineup. The floodgates could open next month, with the Galaxy A53 5G being one of the early ones out through the door. The device has already picked up official support pages on the company’s website. It has also received necessary approvals in several countries. All these developments suggest only one thing, that the launch is imminent. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A53 5G has now popped up on the Google Play Console as well.
From what we can see in this listing, the Galaxy A53 5G will feature Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1200 SoC. It is an unannounced 5nm chipset seemingly targeted at premium mid-range smartphones. The octa-core processor has two ARM Cortex-A78 CPU cores operating at 2.4GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz. It integrates a 1GHz ARM Mali G68 MP4 GPU for graphics duties. This listing on the Google Play Console shows the Galaxy A53 5G will get 6GB of RAM. But we expect it to come in an 8GB RAM variant as well.
Another notable info we have here is about the screen. Samsung is seemingly equipping the Galaxy A53 5G with an FHD+ screen (1080×2400 pixels resolution) having a pixel density of 450 DPI. Prior leaks suggest it is a 6.52-inch punch-hole Super AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device will run Android 12 from day one, with Samsung’s One UI 4 on top.
Other rumored Galaxy A53 5G specs include a 64-megapixel primary rear camera, a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging, an under-display fingerprint scanner, and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. We should find out the truth soon.
Galaxy A33 5G could accompany the Galaxy A53 5G out of Samsung’s doors
When Samsung officially announces the Galaxy A53 5G, it could be accompanied by the Galaxy A33 5G. The latter also recently appeared on the Google Play Console. Based on leaks so far, the two devices will share quite a few specifications. The Galaxy A53 5G will be superior overall, of course, but the Exynos 1200 processor, an FHD+ screen, and a 5,000mAH battery with 25W fast charging could be found on the Galaxy A33 5G as well.
Samsung also has an even more powerful Galaxy A device in the making — the Galaxy A73 5G. It could come out a little later than the aforementioned duo. In the interim, we could see the Korean behemoth introduce the Galaxy A23, Galaxy A23 5G, Galaxy M33 5G, Galaxy M23, and the Galaxy F23 5G. Long story short, a lot is coming out of Samsung’s doors over the next few months. Stay tuned.
