Samsung is gearing up to launch a handful of new Galaxy A series mid-range smartphones over the next few months. These include the Galaxy A23, which recently leaked in renders revealing its design. While we don’t yet have any communication from the company regarding the launch of this phone, we are seemingly getting closer to it. The unannounced device has picked up the official support page on Samsung’s website in Russia. It has also received the required approval (via) from the Bluetooth SIG (special interest group), which is another hint at an imminent launch.
The Galaxy A23 variant listed on Samsung Russia’s official website bears the model number SM-A235F, the same one that was approved by the country’s regulatory agency FSA earlier this month. It is a 4G smartphone and supports dual SIM. The listing doesn’t reveal much about the device. But prior reports suggest it will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 680 SoC with 4GB of RAM. The Galaxy A23 could also come in a 6GB RAM variant but we haven’t heard of it yet.
Other rumored specs include a 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen with a waterdrop notch at the center. The device will reportedly sport a quad-camera setup on the back, featuring a 50-megapixel primary shooter. We will have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm headphone jack on this phone. The Galaxy A23 will boot Android 12 out of the box, with Samsung’s One UI 4 on top. The aforementioned Bluetooth certification has also confirmed the presence of Bluetooth 5.0.
When will the Samsung Galaxy A23 launch?
Fresh from the launch of the Galaxy S22 flagship trio, Samsung is expected to soon shift its focus to the mid-range segment. And the Galaxy A23 isn’t the only mid-range phone it has in the pipeline. We are also expecting the Galaxy A33, Galaxy A53, and Galaxy A73 to go official soon. All of these devices have been picking up necessary regulatory approvals in various countries in recent weeks. They will also come in 5G variants, those certifications have revealed.
Unfortunately, we don’t yet have a confirmed launch timeframe for any of these devices. Earlier reports suggested the Galaxy A33 and the Galaxy A53 could arrive in March. They will be followed by the Galaxy A23 in April and the Galaxy A73 in May. We expect to hear more about these phones in the coming weeks as Samsung prepares for their unveiling.
