Exclusive: Google Pixel 10 Wireless Charging Gets a Qi2 Upgrade, But You’ll Need a Case

It’s official, the Google Pixel 10 series will indeed support Qi2 wireless charging, as Android Authority reported yesterday. We can confirm that this is indeed true and that Google will introduce its own line of Qi2 accessories.

In the report yesterday, Android Authority mentioned that there would be a Qi2 Charger, a Charger with Stand, and a Ring Stand. These will be sold under the “Pixelsnap” name through the Google Store and likely other retailers as well. Google will also sell a number of Qi2 accessories from the “Made for Google” program, which includes accessory makers like Belkin, Bellroy, Spigen, and others.

The Qi2 charger will look a whole lot like Apple’s own MagSafe charger. While the stand will look like the current Pixel Stand 2, with a slot to slide in the Qi2 charger. It’s not a surprise to see Google finally replacing the Pixel Stand 2, since it hasn’t been sold at the Google Store for quite some time. It first debuted in 2021, so it’s time for it to be replaced.

You’ll need a case for Qi 2 wireless charging

Google will include the Qi2 magnets in its own cases this year. Which, unfortunately, means that the magnets will not be built into the Pixel 10 series. This is a trend we’ve seen with Android smartphones this year, as many have launched with Qi2 support, but in order to get the magnets, you’ve needed to get a case for it. This has been the case for the Galaxy S25 series, and sort of for the OnePlus 13. OnePlus technically doesn’t have Qi2, but it does support “MagSafe” with its own cases.

Google will debut a new dual-port USB-C charger

Additionally, Google will also start selling a new dual-port USB-C charger. Currently, Google sells a single-port USB-C charger for $29.99. That’s a 45W charger, so we’re expecting this dual-port charger to likely have a 45W port and a slower port (likely for use with your Pixel Watch charger).

Now, this does not mean that the Pixel 10 series will charge at 45W, as Google’s 45W charger went official last year, and the Pixel 9 did not charge that fast.

Currently, we do not know the pricing of any of these products. But they should be announced alongside the Google Pixel 10 series on August 20 during the Made by Google event. The Google Pixel 10 release date is set for August 28.
