OnePlus and Hasselblad have partnered up last year, and the OnePlus 9 series was the first to launch as part of that partnership. OPPO has been rumored to join up as well, and now we have confirmation. The company has just confirmed the Hasselblad partnership.

OPPO announces Hasselblad partnership

OPPO has confirmed this partnership, by signing a similar agreement with Hasselblad. Last year, OnePlus agreed on a three-year deal with Hasselblad, and OPPO just did the same.

This is not surprising at all, as the OPPO Find X5 series leaked several times now, bearing the ‘Hasselblad’ logo. OnePlus and OPPO are also sister companies, so this transition is not surprising.

OPPO said that it will collaborate with Hasselblad to further develop advanced imaging solutions through R&D. OPPO is looking forward to leveraging Hasselblad’s Natural Color Calibration. That sure did benefit OnePlus’ cameras.

Next-gen OPPO Find X series smartphones are expected to be the first to include Hasselblad branding, and get the first benefits from this collaboration. This will blend in with the camera hardware OPPO will use, and its new NPU.

The MariSilicon NPU will also be a part of the package

Back in December last year, OPPO announced a new 6nm imaging NPU called ‘MariSilicon X’. That NPU offers a 20-bit ultra-high dynamic range, real-time RAW processing, and enhanced RGBW Pro Mode.

On top of that, it enables high-quality 4K AI Night Video, and live preview on Android smartphones. Back then, OPPO did confirm that the MariSilicon NPU will become commercially available with the Find X series in Q1 2022.

Based on rumors, OPPO will announce the Find X5 and X5 Pro as part of its new Find X series. Both of those devices are rumored to arrive during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) later this month.

The OPPO Find X3 Pro had great cameras, as we were able to find out. So, the expectations are quite high for the Find X5 Pro. Not only is Hasselblad now a part of the picture, but this MariSilicon NPU does look quite promising.
