Kanye has escalated his dispute with Kim Kardashian, despite KIm staying relatively silent about the drama.

Kanye West has intensified his ongoing custody battle with his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, by sending a cease and desist letter. This letter raised serious concerns about the care and custody of their four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm West. The letter, sent by Kanye’s lawyer, Kathy Johnson, to Kim’s attorney, Laura Wasser, lists three main issues that Kanye believes break their divorce agreement and interfere with his rights as a parent.

The first major issue involves an incident at the 2025 Met Gala. Kanye claims that Kim Kardashian left their 11-year-old daughter, North, alone in a car for some time while she attended the event, per TMZ. This accusation, which Kanye says is supported by unspecified evidence, questions Kim’s parenting and suggests a failure to keep the children safe, which is a serious matter in any custody case.

The letter states that this behavior goes against their agreed-upon shared custody terms. Second, the cease and desist letter accuses Kim Kardashian of preventing Kanye from having meaningful time with his children. Kanye says this goes against their equal parenting agreement.

He specifically mentions not being able to see his son, Saint, at all this year, though this claim has been disputed because photos exist of Kanye with his three youngest children in Japan earlier in the year. Still, the letter insists that Kanye’s time with North, Chicago, and Psalm has been unfairly limited, making it hard for him to be a present father and maintain a close relationship with his kids.

The third and most controversial accusation involves Kanye’s claim that Kim is using North West for personal or financial gain. Kanye argues that Kim frequently posts pictures and videos of North on social media, especially TikTok, ignoring his shared custody rights and his stated objections to exposing their children to too much public attention.

He says this is a misuse of their daughter’s image and goes against his wishes to protect North’s privacy and shield her from the stress of fame. The current custody arrangement, set after their 2021 divorce, gives both parents joint custody. Kanye pays $200,000 each month in child support, a large sum. The cease and desist letter challenges what Kanye sees as an unfair imbalance in their arrangement, arguing that Kim’s actions harm their children’s well-being and break the terms of their agreement.

People close to Kim Kardashian deny Kanye’s claims, saying he has rarely tried to contact the children this year. They insist Kim has never stopped him from seeing the kids when he has asked. Kim Kardashian has shared concerns about Kanye’s behavior and public statements, especially those involving his current wife, Bianca Censori; she has mostly kept a low profile in the custody dispute.
