The OnePlus Watch 3 has been on a rather wild ride since it debuted in February. The smartwatch debuted to much praise, similar to the OnePlus Watch 2. However, some started to notice that there was a typo on the bottom of the watch. Instead of saying “Made in China” it said “Meda in China”. OnePlus, to their credit, acknowledged and opted to remake all of the OnePlus Watch 3 models that they had already produced.
That forced a delay in the availability of the OnePlus Watch 3, which came back onto shelves earlier this month. At a much higher price. The OnePlus Watch 3 was priced at $499 when it returned. This was likely due to the tariffs, though OnePlus had no comment at the time.
Today, OnePlus is announcing that the Watch 3 is available in the US at $349.99 (a $20 increase from the original price), and this is the final MSRP, and will not be changed going forward. Here’s the full statement from OnePlus.
On April 10, the price of the OnePlus Watch 3 was increased to $499.99 in the U.S. due to the current market conditions. After further evaluation, we’re pleased to share that recent adjustments in our supply chain have allowed us to pass some savings back to those who are interested in purchasing the OnePlus Watch 3 in the U.S. As a result, the OnePlus Watch 3 in the U.S. is now available at its new price of $349.99; this is the final MSRP price and will not be changed going forward.
For those who did purchase a OnePlus Watch 3 at $499.99 in the U.S., OnePlus will refund them the difference to their original payment method and will be contacted directly by the OnePlus Customer Support team. This change reflects our effort to be transparent, responsive, and committed to bringing the OnePlus Watch 3 to the U.S at a competitive price point, despite the ongoing market conditions. We appreciate all our OnePlus users and the OnePlus community for their continued support and understanding.
OnePlus Watch is still a pretty good value at $349
OnePlus has been known for its value ever since the company started in 2012. And when the Watch 2 debuted last year, it was immediately called the best Wear OS watch on the market. Not only because of its incredible battery life, but also its price. The same has been said about the OnePlus Watch 3; however, at $499, it made it a rather tough sell. Thankfully, OnePlus has brought it back down to $349, which is the same price as the Google Pixel Watch 3. So still competitive, even if it is a bit more expensive.
Why the huge price increase in the first place? We likely will never have a concrete answer there. However, we do believe that this had to do with Trump’s Tariffs. President Trump has started a trade war with China (and other countries) and brought tariffs all the way up to 245%. OnePlus, being based in China, obviously manufactures all of its products in China, which means that they would get hit with that tariff.
However, with tariffs changing nearly daily, it would have been hard for OnePlus to emphatically say that a product will be this price, when tomorrow, Tariffs could rise by 100% or more. Thankfully, OnePlus was able to evaluate the situation and bring the price down to $349. It’s still a price increase, but a much more manageable one. It’s also great to see OnePlus offering to refund the difference for those who did purchase it at $499.

OnePlus Watch 3 – $349
