Lesbia Mileth Ramirez Guerra via Charles County Sheriff’s Office
Guerra was reported missing, but her car was found parked outside her home.
After a weeks-long search that gripped the nation, authorities discovered a body believed to be missing 25-year-old mother Lesbia Mileth Ramirez Guerra in a wooded area of Prince George’s County near Adelphi, Maryland.
After the grim discovery, police arrested Guerra’s boyfriend, Nelvin Lizandro Canales-Rivera, 24. Police also arrested her uncle, Juan Carlos Guerra, 38. Both men are now facing serious charges in connection with her death, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office said.
The investigation remains open
Guerra was last seen in Waldorf, Maryland, on March 31st, 2025. According to official reports from the Prince George’s County Police Department, her boyfriend reported her missing on April 2nd, 2025. Mysteriously, authorities found Guerra’s car was parked at her home.
Family members and friends expressed growing concern as days turned into weeks without any sign of Guerra. The police launched a comprehensive search effort, which included ground teams and detectives, among other investigative techniques.
Detectives, following up on leads and pursuing all possible avenues, located what they believe to be Guerra’s remains in a heavily wooded area of Prince George’s County. Official identification is pending confirmation from the medical examiner.
Not long after the body believed to be Guerra’s body was found, the Prince George’s County Police Department announced Nelvin Lizandro Canales-Rivera, Guerra’s boyfriend, was in custody on first and second-degree murder charges.
Simultaneously, police apprehended Juan Carlos Guerra, the victim’s uncle, and charged him with accessory after the fact.
According to the authorities, Guerra’s exact cause of death and the specific roles Canales-Rivera and Guerra may have played in how she died remain under investigation. Charges suggest a violent end for Guerra and an attempt to conceal the crime.
Police have indicated that the investigation is active and ongoing. They are not ruling out the possibility of additional charges or further arrests as more information comes to light.
