With everyone onboard on some or the other social media platforms such as Instagram or Twitter, the security of users’ data is one of the crucial tasks of the developers.

Companies are trying to make their social media platforms full-proof from attackers, or at least provide an easy recovery process for a hacked account.

Instagram has been lacking such a system, although it has been testing and rolling out a few security tools that help protect your account from being hacked.

Although they aren’t the greatest tools against hackers, they at least give us confidence that the company is working in the right direction.

Sometime back, Instagram introduced the Security Checkup feature for its users. Using this feature, users could check if their account is compromised or not. Thankfully, this feature is now rolling out to everyone.

According to the latest blog post (via PhoneArena), Instagram is finally rolling out the security checkup feature for all of its users. It was previously limited to a select number of users.

Instagram is also adding the option to delete posts in bulk

Users can check their login activity, review profile information, update their account recovery contact information (which includes a phone number or email address), and more.

Make sure that you have the latest version of the Instagram app installed on your smartphone. To use this security checkup feature, you can navigate to Profile menu > Settings > Security > Security Checkup.

To further strengthen the security of your Instagram profile, we would advise you to enable 2FA via WhatsApp as well. This feature isn’t available in all countries, though.

You can make use of 2FA authenticator apps such as Duo Mobile and Google Authentication. Additionally, Instagram is also adding the option to delete posts in bulk.

Yes! Now you don’t need to delete each of your posts one by one. It seems like a pretty simple feature for a social media app, but it was missing from Instagram.

Moreover, you can now also archive or delete stories, IGTV, and Reels. Furthermore, you can also archive or delete all of the entire interactions, such as comments, likes, story sticker reactions, etc.

There is another option incoming for Instagram users that lets you sort and filter content by date and search for past comments. You can also sort and filter content based on likes, story replies from a specific date range.

All these options will be available under Profile > Your activity. Last but not least, Instagram is also testing a new option that would allow people to gain access to their accounts. Users can ask their friends to confirm their identities.
