Samsung is gearing up to officially announce the Galaxy S22 series in a couple of days. On February 9, to be precise. But the company has already started sharing images of the unannounced phones on its social media channels. The Korean brand may have just shared a camera sample from one of its upcoming phones as well.
Samsung recently posted a photo from the opening ceremony of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. While that is something that we usually see from the long-time official sponsor of the mega sporting event, the company’s choice of caption and hashtags for this post rings a bell.
“Epic night, epic sights. Welcome to the #Beijing2022 #OpeningCeremony, let the games begin! #MakeNightsEpic #withGalaxy,” Samsung captioned the image. Now, if you have been following the company’s recent Galaxy S22 teasers, you’d notice it’s using similar captions and hashtags there as well. The Korean firm is teasing significantly improved low-light photography capabilities of its upcoming flagships. And this photo was taken in a dim environment.
Moreover, Samsung also included the February 9 launch date for the Galaxy S22 series in the post. All this suggests the photo that we see here is captured from a Galaxy S22 model. Perhaps the Galaxy S22 Ultra as the company usually focuses on the top model for such marketing campaigns.
Regardless of which device Samsung used to capture this photo, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is shaping up to be a photography powerhouse. The device features a 108-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens coupled with a wide-angle sensor. There will also be, and two 10-megapixel sensors with 3X and 10X optical zoom respectively.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra also has a lot going for it in other departments. It’s a combination of the best of Samsung’s Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series. The device could very well be the smartphone to beat this year.
Samsung has started showing off the Galaxy S22 series
Samsung has yet to officially announce the Galaxy S22 series. But it appears the company no longer feels the need of keeping the devices under wraps. Perhaps the volume of leaks and details revealed prematurely made the Korean firm jump the gun itself.
However, it will still hold an announcement event for the phones on February 9. The Galaxy S22 series will be accompanied by the Galaxy Tab S8 series flagship Android tablets. We will keep you updated with all the happenings at the event.
Epic night, epic sights. Welcome to the #Beijing2022 #OpeningCeremony, let the games begin! #MakeNightsEpic #withGalaxy
