In it, the company keeps on adding weight on the phone to show all of us how strong its hinge is. Four unfolded OPPO Find N5’s can support a weight of 50 kg, which is immensely impressive in general, let alone considering how thin this phone and its hinge are.
In fact, towards the end of the video, you can see a person swinging back and forth, while the swing is attached to those four devices. So it can support a dangling weight of 50 kg, basically.
It is worth noting that this test was done in a controlled environment, and the weight distribution has been calculated, but still… still is immensely impressive, and not many people would disagree with that fact.
This phone is the thinnest foldable on the market at the moment
The OPPO Find N5, for those of you who don’t know, is the thinnest (book-style) foldable smartphone in the market. It managed to trump the HONOR Magic V3. It’s also quite light for a foldable of its size and type.
Despite that, the phone seems to be quite durable. Not only did OPPO demonstrate how strong the phone’s hinge is, but the device is IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 certified. So it has proper water resistance.
It is a real shame that OPPO did not make this phone readily available. The device is not coming to the US or Europe. As of now, it only launched in a few Asia-Pacific countries, that’s it.
