OnePlus introduced its latest smartwatch called the Watch 3 earlier this week. The new wearable brings a handful of feature upgrades and new health-centric features. However, apart from the new upgrades, a typo also accidentally slipped through the cracks on the OnePlus Watch 3. It has a typo in the engraving of the backplate that reads “Meda in China” instead of “Made in China. The brand has officially acknowledged the Watch 3’s typo and said that it is going to fix it.

OnePlus USA’s account on X.com has acknowledged the “Meda in China” typo on the backplate of the Watch 3 smartwatch. “A typo slipped through and made its way onto your shiny new OnePlus Watch 3. Don’t worry, it was totally unintentional”, reads the company’s post on X. OnePlus said that those who have already bought the Watch 3 with a typo in the engraving can keep it as a super limited edition.
Furthermore, OnePlus will also accept a return for the Watch 3 “no questions asked.” OnePlus also mentioned, “Thanks for your understanding while we get everything back in check.” It is going to refresh the stock with the correct engraving on the back plate in the next batches and will keep posting new updates on its social handles.
Soon after OnePlus launched the Watch 3, several reviewers and tech blogs went to social networking platforms to point out the engraving error on the backplate. The reports indicate that the typo affects a significant number of units. It’s worth mentioning that even the official renders of the watch on the company’s website reflected the error.
OnePlus Watch 3 is currently out of stock
At the time of writing this post, the OnePlus Watch 3 is out of stock on the company’s website in the US. This is presumably due to the stock refresh with correct engravings on the back panel. However, OnePlus will soon bring back a fresh stock of the device.
